Overview
Texas hold `em uses a disc to indicate the dealer. Before the deal, the two players to the left of the disc place small and big blind bets, blind because the bet is placed prior to the cards being seen by the player. These are LIVE bets because they form part of the first betting round.
The play begins with two cards dealt face down to each player. Action starts with a betting round beginning with the player to the left of the blind bets and continuing clockwise round the table. Players may bet, raise, check or fold in turn. The big blind has the last action and can check or raise the bet.
“The Flop” Three community cards are dealt face up on the table, another round of betting takes place starting with the small blind.
“The Turn” another card is dealt face up and a round of betting takes place.
“The River” the final card is turned and another round of betting takes place. Players left in will show their hands and the winning poker hand is awarded the pot. Any combination of pocket cards and community cards may be used to make the best five card poker hand.

Dealer disc / button
The first player to have the dealer button will be drawn from the seating allocator. The button moves to the left after every hand and determines the order of betting ( blinds ).

Posting of blinds
At the beginning of each hand, before the cards are dealt, the two players immediately to the left of the dealer must post blinds. To post a blind is to make a bet before getting cards. The player first left of the dealer posts small blind equal to half the minimum bet. The player to the left of the small blind posts the big blind, equal to the amount of the minimum bet. Blinds start at 25 (small) and 50 (big)-making the minimum bet 50. These increase as the game progresses and you will be made aware by the tournament manager/ess. New blinds take effect the next time they are posted.

Pocket cards
Once the blinds have been posted, two cards are dealt face down to each player and are called the “Pocket Cards”. Each player looks at their own pocket cards. The first round of betting takes place, beginning with the player immediately to the left of the big blind and continuing in a clockwise direction around the table.

The Bet !!
The minimum bet is always the current big blind There is no limit on the amount of raises per round of betting but any raise must be a “multiple” of the big blind.
Going all in, split pots and side pots.
Players are also able to go “all in” which means they are betting all their chips on that hand. A side pot is created when one player has insufficient funds to call the bet. These chips are placed to one side and betting can continue with the other players in the usual way. You can only win any pot that you have contributed to.

Flop cards
Following the “Burn” card (where the top card is placed face down on the table for security) three cards are dealt face up in the middle of the table. All three cards are community cards called “The Flop” and can be used by all the players at the table to make up their best possible five card hand. After the flop is dealt, a second round of betting takes place, again beginning with the player immediately to the left of the dealer button. All subsequent rounds of betting begin with the player to the left of the dealer button.

Turn card
Following the flop, a further “burn” card and then a fourth community card is dealt face up in the middle of the table. This card is called “The Turn” card and can also be used by all players. It is followed by the third round of betting.

River Card
One more “Burn” card and then the fifth and final community card is dealt face up in the middle of the table. It is called “The River” card and is followed by the fourth and final round of betting.

The Show
When all betting is complete, players determine the winner by who has made the best five card poker hand. Should there be a tie, the pot is split equally and any odd amount going to the player to the left of the dealer.

Round Again
When the pot has been won and the hand completed the dealer button moves one player to the left, blinds are posted and the next hand begins.

The ultimate WINNER is the person who now owns all of the chips !!!!

GOOD LUCK TO ALL WHO PLAY – ENJOY.
